You'll get familiar with the basics of smart contracts, Ethereum platform, and would learn how to build decentralized applications.

At the most fundamental level, a blockchain is a type of database. A database is a collection of digital information, typically structured in table format to allow for easier access, search, filter, and manipulation.
But blockchain is different from a typical database.
Blockchain structures its information into groups (blocks) having a certain storage capacity. Each new block gets stored linearly and chronologically. When a block gets filled, it's chained onto the previously filled block, forming a chain of data known as the "blockchain." Each block gets defined its own hash, the hash of the block before it, along with the previously mentioned time stamp. A Hash is simply a function needed to solve a blockchain computation.
The goal of blockchain technology is to allow digital information to be recorded and distributed, but not edited. Though Blockchain technology was first outlined in 1991 by Stuart Haber and W. Scott Stornetta, it wasn't until the launch of Bitcoin in January 2009, that blockchain saw its first real-world application.
But what's a cryptocurrency? And how does it relate to Blockchain?
Cryptocurrency is any digital or virtual currency that's secured by various encryption algorithms and cryptographic techniques. Most of these currencies are powered by Blockchain technology.
Bitcoin is the most popular of these cryptocurrencies, claiming 68% value of all the cryptocurrencies in existence (which stands at $214 billion). Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, referred to Bitcoin as "a new electronic cash system that's fully peer-to-peer, with no trusted third party.",
Litecoin, Ethereum, Peercoin, Namecoin, Cardona, and EOS are a few other notable cryptocurrencies.
Sign up for this course to thoroughly learn Blockchain fundamentals, and to understand how these cryptocurrencies work.
Listed below are some of the key advantages of Blockchain Technology:
Blockchain technology is already powering cryptocurrencies, which are ever-growing in both their value as well as popularity. Here are other domains where Blockchain can find its applications too:
In this course, we go a lot deeper into Blockchain applications and even conduct a detailed discussion on enterprise-level blockchain implementation.
High job prospects and diverse job roles to choose from
Industries and sectors like *healthcare, real estate, aviation, energy & resources, banking, computing, retail,* etc. have started integrating blockchain into their businesses, all thanks to the advantages and flexibility of this technology.
While the global market for Blockchain products and services is expected to cross $7.7 billion by 2022, there is a clear lack of skilled Blockchain professionals in the market. That's why employment prospects appear substantial with the average salary of a blockchain professional ranging between $80,000 to $1,50,000 (as of 2019).
Besides handsome pay, there are wide career options to choose from depending on your working history, interests, and future goals. You can choose to become a UX/UX designer for Blockchain solutions or become a Blockchain consultant helping businesses to understand Blockchain use cases. You can even opt for careers in Cybersecurity as learning Blockchain supports cybersecurity career pursuits.
Walk ahead of the world by getting familiar with the Blockchain Technology
While 50% of the world's population is using the Internet, only 0.5% of that are using blockchain today. Only a small percentage of people understand the concepts, working, or algorithms powering Blockchain technology or terms like "smart contracts", "distributed ledger", "ICOs", etc. By learning Blockchain, you can confidently talk about these topics and walk ahead of the world.
Make smart investments in cryptocurrencies and ICOs
As explained, Blockchain is the technology powering cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin, or Ethereum. Learning Blockchain allows you to understand the underlying technology of cryptocurrencies, thereby allowing you to make smarter investments and tradings. You can even shortlist and invest in the best ICOs based on their concepts.
This course is suitable for both the developer and non-developer audience. However, you'll enjoy an added advantage if you’ve a technical background and some understanding of programming concepts.
